  13. Allright, I could use some help here.

  15. I wanted to write a game in C++. The Amiga MaxonC++ thing doesn't handle
  16. pointerbug to well, so I wanted to switch to Unix.
  17.  
  18. I downloaded:
  19. - linux 0.9.13, 1.2.13pl3 and 1.2.13pl6
  20. - amiboot 1.12a, 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 
  21. - the watchtower filesystem (for linux 1.2.13pl3)
  22. - and ofcourse NetBSD 1.1 
  23. (I wanted to be really prepared).

  25. Linux 0.9.13 is running, but I've read it isn't quite stable.
  26. So I wanted to install 1.2.plX, but it is aborting on a SCSI error on my GVP 
  27. SeriesII with GURUROM when I want to make a ext2 (5.0a) filesystem. This meant
  28. I cannot use the watchtower filesystem. So I installed gcc 2.6.3 myself on
  29. linux 0.9.13. 
  30. For some reason the c++-includes (fstream.h, iostream.h) aren't available.

  32. So the questions I'm trying to answer:
  33. - Why doesn't linux 1.2.13plX run on my system?
  34. - Does Linux have a full C++ package?
  35. - Should I continue with linux or switch to NetBSD?
  36. - Does NetBSD have the full C++ package?
  37. - Does NetBSD support virtual terminals?
  38.  
  39. If you could give me some pointers (no core dumps), please do...
