- Allright, I could use some help here.
-
- I wanted to write a game in C++. The Amiga MaxonC++ thing doesn't handle
- pointerbug to well, so I wanted to switch to Unix.
-
- I downloaded:
- - linux 0.9.13, 1.2.13pl3 and 1.2.13pl6
- - amiboot 1.12a, 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2
- - the watchtower filesystem (for linux 1.2.13pl3)
- - and ofcourse NetBSD 1.1
- (I wanted to be really prepared).
-
- Linux 0.9.13 is running, but I've read it isn't quite stable.
- So I wanted to install 1.2.plX, but it is aborting on a SCSI error on my GVP
- SeriesII with GURUROM when I want to make a ext2 (5.0a) filesystem. This meant
- I cannot use the watchtower filesystem. So I installed gcc 2.6.3 myself on
- linux 0.9.13.
- For some reason the c++-includes (fstream.h, iostream.h) aren't available.
-
- So the questions I'm trying to answer:
- - Why doesn't linux 1.2.13plX run on my system?
- - Does Linux have a full C++ package?
- - Should I continue with linux or switch to NetBSD?
- - Does NetBSD have the full C++ package?
- - Does NetBSD support virtual terminals?
-
- If you could give me some pointers (no core dumps), please do...
-
- Mail ya,
